Lafayette County Farm Bureau 

Applications are now open for the 2024 year. Scholarships are available to a graduating high school senior currently residing in Lafayette County, a member and/or child of a Lafayette County Farm Bureau member, pursuing a post-secondary education in an agricultural related field, must work at least one shift at the Farm Bureau Food Stand during the 2024 Lafayette County Fair.

The Competitive Edge Scholarship

The Competitive Edge Scholarship Program offers up to four (4) $3,000 scholarships to incoming students at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Application deadline is March 3, 2024.

Applications are now open for 2024 Insight FS Scholarship. Scholarships are available to any high school senior enrolled in a college and must have maintained a satisfactory grade point average of at least 2.5 on a 4 point scale. Be active or seeking membership in local agriculture groups, including membership in his/her local 4-H or FFA Chapter. Be a dependent of an Insight FS customer or employee. The primary goal of the program is to encourage area students to prepare for a career in agriculture or agribusiness. Applications and official transcripts must be received by March 31, 2024 to be eligible.

Applications are now open for the 2024 Wisconsin Cattlemen’s Scholarship Program. Scholarships are available to any high school senior enrolled or planning to enroll in any university, technical college, or community college in the United States. Applications must be postmarked no later than February 23, 2024.

The Wisconsin Rural Opportunities Foundation (WROF), Inc. is delighted to announce the 2024-2025 WROF, Inc. Premier Scholarship Awards Program! The WROF, Inc. will present to five rural Wisconsin high school seniors pursuing post-secondary education with plans to return to rural Wisconsin upon graduation each with a scholarship award of $3,000. The application will be available on this webpage until 11:59 pm on Wednesday, March 6, 2024.

 

Scholarship Requirements:

  • The high school senior has lived in rural Wisconsin for at least two years. “Rural” is defined as traditional rural areas and rural towns with a population of 25,000 or less.
  • The high senior is attending a public, private, or home school in Wisconsin.
  • The high school senior is pursuing post-secondary education and plans on returning to rural Wisconsin upon graduation.
  • The high school senior will pursue a degree in a field that will support the economic health and well-being of rural communities in Wisconsin. This includes fields in agriculture, healthcare, large animal veterinary care, environmental studies, and sustainable practices.
  • The high school senior has financial need.

The award will support post-secondary tuition and educational expenses in Wisconsin schools.

2024 Jim Vondra Memorial Scholarship: postmarked by February 1, 2024

To be eligible, you must be a student graduating high school or previous graduates pursuing higher education. This is a $500 scholarship awarded to students pursing higher education based on scholastic achievement, leadership, need, and community involvement in honor of the memory of Jim Vondra. Jim was a highly personable and conscientious employee: his dedication to serving others was second only to his family. Scholarship Application

2024 Agriculture First Scholarship: postmarked by February 1, 2024

To be eligible, the student must be a high school senior graduating in 2024 to then pursue a two or four year degree in livestock production, crop production, or closely related field. Applications must be signed by a high school official. This is a $500 scholarship awarded to high school seniors based on scholastic achievement, leadership in agriculture, and a perceived ability to contribute to the agricultural community in the future. Scholarship Application 

2024 PCE Trades Scholarship: postmarked by February 1, 2024

To be eligible, individuals pursuing advanced education in trades or skilled field. This includes certificate programs designed to develop skills including but not limited to welding, mechanics, aviation, and CDL driving programs. This is a $500 scholarship awarded to individuals pursuing trades or skilled based training in honor of the memory of a dedicated PCE team member, Jake Brubacker. Jake was a trusworthy employee, devoted to serving his team and his customers. Scholarship Application 

 

 

LAFAYETTE COUNTY 4-H LEADERS SCHOLARSHIP

Open to graduating high school seniors and college freshmen that are current Lafayette County 4-H members with at least four years or more of membership.  Preference will be given to members who have not yet received this scholarship.

Application must be postmarked by April 15. Scholarship winners will be announced at their local Senior Awards Program.
Lafayette County 4-H Leaders Association will award scholarships of not less than $100.

4-H Leaders Scholarship – 1-11-2024

 

DONALD BOOTH MEMORIAL 4-H SCHOLARSHIP

Open to graduating high school seniors and college freshmen that are current Lafayette County 4-H members with at least four years or more of membership.  Preference will be given to members who have not yet received this scholarship.

Application must be postmarked by April 15, 2024 Scholarship winners will be announced at their local Senior Awards Program.
Lafayette County 4-H Leaders Association will award 2 scholarships of not less than $250.

Donald Booth Memorial 4-H Scholarship App 2024

 

 

The Wisconsin Corn Foundation, Inc. has released the application for the 2024 Wisconsin Corn Foundation Scholarship.  One $500 scholarship will be awarded to a deserving Wisconsin high school senior or current post-secondary education student. This program recognizes individuals pursuing a career in agriculture. Preference will be given to those students possessing leadership abilities and interest in the grain industry.

This year, the Wisconsin Corn Foundation is partnering with National Corn Growers Association along with 9 other states for to create the 2024 Consolidated Scholarship Application. This application allows students in Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Texas, and Wisconsin to apply for their state scholarship program as well as the national scholarship programs using one application. The 2024 Consolidated Scholarship Application can be accessed by visiting https://wicorn.org/about/wisconsin-corn-foundation/.

Scholarship deadline for the Wisconsin is the first Friday of December. 2023 Deadline: December 1 (note the earlier deadline). 

Students applying for the Wisconsin Corn Foundation Scholarship do NOT need to follow the NCGA membership requirement unless they plan to also apply for the one of the NCGA National Scholarships.

At a national level, NCGA is proud to have 3 scholarship programs for 3 distinct audiences:

Technical School/Community College Scholarship Program

  • 5 – $1,000 scholarships for students pursuing a degree at a technical school or community college

NCGA William C. Berg Academic Excellence Scholarship Program

  • NCGA and BASF Corporation will provide 5 – $1,500 scholarships for undergraduate students pursuing degrees in any field.

Graduate Student Scholarship Program

  • 2 – $2,500 scholarship for a graduate student whose area of student will benefit the corn sector.

To apply, students or a parent/guardian must be a member of the NCGA. Past scholarship winners and employees and the families of employees of any division of BASF or their subsidiaries or the NCGA are not eligible for the scholarship.

The scholarship application for NCGA scholarships deadline is January 31, 2024.

 


The Wisconsin Pork Association (WPA) is offering several scholarships to high school seniors and also college students. A description of each scholarship is listed below.

Southwest Wisconsin Pork Producers Scholarship: Due Apr. 1st 2024

Awarded to a high school or college student from either Iowa, Grant, or Lafayette County Wisconsin who has a vested interest in agriculture-preferably the swine industry. (1) $1,000 scholarship.
